Springdale Road is a tree lined sidewalk street filled with old estate homes. The street stretches 1.4 miles from the south end where it ends at Fairview Rd (one of my favorite streets in Atlanta) to the north end where it just crosses North Decatur Rd after crossing The By Way. It intersects with Ponce de Leon Ave between Decatur and the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. 
This is unincorporated Dekalb County and that means lower taxes.
The styles are varied from Tudor to Colonial, Traditional to Georgian and Italian Manor. Many of the homes have guest or carriage houses or in law suites. Some of those are used as rental income. The homes on Springdale Rd in Druid Hills tend to range in price from the $1.3 million to $2.2 million. One of the homes was featured in Southern Architect in 1923 and has wrought iron posts from the old Governor's mansion. Another estate home built around 1917 was once owned by Ernest Woodruff and has a private tennis court on the property.
