Smyrna Farmers Market - One of my favorite things about summer is the fresh fruits and vegetables that are so readily available.
This morning I went to the Smyrna Farmers Market also known as the Smyrna Fresh Produce Market which is located in the Smyrna Baptist Church parking lot next to Smyrna Market Village off of Atlanta Rd. (1275 Church Street SE Smyrna, GA 30080) Below is a sample of what I brought home, even portobello mushrooms. Tonight's dinner is going to be so good!

Local growers will bring their fruits, vegetables, honey and homemade jams to sell. There's even homemade bath salts and soaps. It's open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon through the summer.

Hi Jen, I have never been there, but frequent the DeKalb farmer's market. This sounds so inviting, we'll have to try it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I LOVE farmers markets! Not only do they suport the local economies, but the freshness you get is always bar none. You can beat farm to table freshness!
I love farmers markets too... it always feels like summer is here when I start going to them... thanks for sharing!
Jen One of my favorite summer activities is our farmer's market before Sunday worship
Ray, it's nowhere near the size or variety of the Dekalb Farmers Market but if you're looking for good basic fruits and vegetables, it's great.
Jennifer, I love supporting the local ecomomy too.
Mike, I agree, it does feel like summer when we go.
Karen, I'm glad you enjoy it too.
Thank you all for your comments. By the way, dinner tonight was the fresh portobello mushrooms baked with sundried tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese on top. Dessert was juicy peaches and yogurt. I'm looking forward to going back next week!
I haven't been to this one, but will put be sure to stop by next time I am in the area. Looks fabulous!
Kathy, it's small, maybe 10 or 12 vendors but really has a great variety.
I was trying to compile a list of our farmers’ markets the other day. So far I’m up to 42 of them! And they are not all on Weekends. There’s at least one market on every day of the week!
